a place to accept those credit cards likea website or you can eve use your smart phone twoa separate business bank account so the money from the credit card goes to mentioned bankaccount and threea business license that matches your bank account name.boom. it’s that easy.after you have all three of those things (which really only takes about a day to setup if you’re vigilant, so no excuses) you’ll need to then look for both a merchantcompany and a gateway company. or you can be smart and find both a merchantand gateway company in one.
if you haven’t been following me just downloadthe checklist at the end of this video. now, when looking for a merchant and gatewaycompany heed these three warnings so you don’t make my mistakes.one. watch out for pitches that talk about the lowest percentage rates. why? if you havean online business, your first thought should not be about getting the best deal. what shouldyour first thought be about? liabilities. make sure you find a company that knows onlineliabilities and how to properly accept them without putting blame on you and your company.i personally have been with then fired at least 3 merchant companies who claimed tohave the lowest percentage rates but i far made up for those rates in outrageous statementfees and other made up fees that i’ve never
even heard of.two. watch out for pitches claiming that their company’s online terminals can work withany shopping cart. 90% of the time this is either false or it means you have to hirea programmer to get their coding to work with your coding. i personally had to also dealwith this twice. both times i was promised that their coding works with any shoppingcart automatically and i also got promises that the merchant companies programmers wouldeven install the online terminals. nope. instead, after signing up, i got instructions on howto install the software myself and instead was promised support if i had problems. goodluck with that. three. watch out for bad support. many merchantcompanies, and i’ve experienced this myself,
promise amazing support through live chatsand ticket systems. nope. i’ve found that 75% of merchant companies sign you up thencompletely abandon you or refer you to outdated knowledge databases that never help. whenhave those databases helped anybody! after going through half a dozen nightmarishonline terminal companies and merchants i have found 1, that’s right 1 that is myall time favorite, has relatively low set-up fees, percentage rates and really does workwith any online shopping cart. and that company is called authorize.net. i use them myselffor everything, as a programmer i’ve integrated them seamlessly in every shopping cart i’veever worked with. and, i’ve had to contact their support morethan a hundred times and they have helped
