dollars in gift cards. the gift cards, now laid out as evidence, $23,000 worth, bought, edmond police say, by these two men. they used at least 19 stolen or cloned credit cards. these men are out of florida. that is not uncommon.
they usually travel in a group. brian: edmond police say the groups travel around the country, hitting stores near highways, with self checkouts. just like the sam's club in edmond. so that when their card after card after card is getting
declined, they're not tipping somebody off. brian: but in this case, they did tip off someone. a cashier. he called police. so here's how edmond police are fighting this. they've got this new device.
they can take a card that may be cloned and swipe it to make sure the numbers on the front match the stripe on the back.
